How these herbs helps to cure the fever?

The herbal blend in the Keva Fever care syrup are well known herbs to cure and treat the symptoms related to fever and the following discussion will justify their working.

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) is beneficial for the treatment of diseases such as jaundice, fever, diabetes and skin disease etc. It is a antipyretic herb and is also good for its immuno-modulatory action. It reduces span of fever and duration of infection. It also maintains physical and mental strength of the patient and prevents fever-associated debility. It helps to combat with the symptoms of fever like fatigue, tiredness, restlessness, weakness, pain in legs and body aches.

Bhumi amla (Phyllanthus niruri) Helps in chronic and recurrent fever and can be effectively treated with Bhumi amla. It acts as a carminative, checks thirst, purifies blood. It helps to check skin diseases, edema, cough and asthma. It neutralizes ill effects of poison. Bhumi amla helps to heal wounds easily. The main constituents of bhumi amla is Phyllanthine & Hypophyllanthine. Other constituents are alkaloids, lignans, amarin, gernanin, corilagin, rutin and flavonoids (quercetin,catechin) which are helpful in reducing the signs of fever and illness, and also helps to boost the natural ability of the body to fight against the infectious.

Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata) has antipyretic (lowers fevers), anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, ant parasitic and hepatoprotective (liver protecting) activities. It can also be used to treat liver and digestive system related problems.

Nagarmotha (Cyperus rotandus) helps to relieve fever, burning sensation, excessive thrust and other symptoms of fever. The major chemical components of this herb are essential oils, flavonoids, terpenoids, sesquiterpenes, cyprotene, cyperene, aselinene, rotundene, valencene, cyperol, gurjunene, trans-calamenene, cadalene, cyperotundone, mustakone, isocyperol, acyperone, etc., These ingredients possesses various pharmacological activities such as diuretic, carminative, emmenagogue, anthelminthic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-dysenteric, antirheumatic activities.

 Pitpapda (Fumaria parviflora), removes indigestion, biliousness, fever, burning of the body, fatigue, urinary discharges, vomiting, thirst, enriches the blood and is useful in leprosy. The leaves are bitter and cooling. They cure bilious fever, blood diseases and allay thirst. The plant is regarded as efficacious in low fever, and is also used as an anthelmintic, diuretic, diaphoretic and aperients and to purify the blood in skin diseases.

Saptparni (Alstonia scholaris), is used for fever, high blood pressure, diarrhea, joint and muscle pain (rheumatism), and malaria. It is also used as a stimulant.

Tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum) has anti- stress, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, immunomodulation, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antipyretic, antidiuretic, ant diabetic, and antimalarial and hypolipidemic properties with a wide margin of safety. It helps to cure the fever and the diseases associated with the fever. Tulsi is important constituent to boost the level of the immunity and helps to protect the body from the infections.  It is very good remedy for diarrhea and fever associated with cold, cough, bronchitis. It is very good for asthma where the patient sits bent forward and supports the head with the hands while the elbows rest on the knee, cannot lie quite in bed. There is pain in the chest while coughing or sneezing. It is very good remedy for diarrhea. In this there is very copious stool and very offensive, watery, full of mucous at times stools or bloody, involuntary during high fever.

Cinchona (Cinchona officinalis), is used for increasing appetite; promoting the release of digestive juices; and treating bloating, fullness, and other stomach problems. It is also used for blood vessel disorders including hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and leg cramps. It can be also beneficial for mild attacks of influenza, swine flu, the common cold, malaria, and fever. Other uses are for cancer, mouth and throat diseases, enlarged spleen, and muscle cramps.

Directions for use:

Children: ½-1 tsf.  Thrice daily or as directed by physician.

Adults : 2-3 tpf. Thrice a day, or directed by physician.
